The module is intended to be used on system integrators host board to support transmission over DWDM links in Metro networks. It is comprised of high-rate data lanes, a single reference clock for OTU4 hosts, a single 3.3V power supply, an MDIO interface for module control and status report, and dedicated alarm and control pins.
