It was June 14, 1998, Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz. The Bulls had a 3-2 series lead, but the Jazz were playing on their home court in Salt Lake City looking to force a Game 7. It was a nail-biting game from the start, with both teams exchanging leads throughout the first half. In the fourth quarter, with the game tied at 83-83 and less than a minute left on the clock, Michael Jordan rose up for a 20-foot jump shot over Bryon Russell and drilled it to give the Bulls the lead. On the ensuing possession, Jordan stripped the ball from Karl Malone and dribbled up the court, crossing over Russell before hitting another game-sealing jump shot with just 5.2 seconds remaining. The Bulls won the game 90-86 and secured their sixth NBA championship in eight years. Jordan's performance that night, with 45 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal, is regarded as one of the greatest in basketball history and firmly cemented him as the game's greatest player.
