The AFC West champion Chiefs look to secure their 14th win to close out the regular season when they head to Las Vegas to face the Raiders on Saturday afternoon (4:30 p.m. ET, ABC). Kansas City extended its reign of the AFC West, claiming its seventh-straight division title back in Week 15, and is still in the running for the top seed in the AFC. While there's some uncertainty pertaining to exactly how the AFC playoff seeding will be decided, the Chiefs still need to take care of busine s in Week 18, but it won't come easy against a Raiders' bunch looking to play spoiler. While the Chiefs are currently priced as hefty 8.5-point road favorites with an implied win probability of 80 percent (-400 on the moneyline), they had trouble gaining margin on the Raiders in their prior meeting back in Week 5.
Josh Harris Jersey After falling into an early 20-0 hole in the first half, the Chiefs rallied back to secure a narrow 30-29 home victory. In the win, Travis Kelce couldn't be contained in the red zone, catching all four of Patrick Mahomes' touchdown pa ses. For the Raiders, Davante Adams once again proved why he's one of the best receivers in the game, hauling in three receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The most notable change from Week 5 to now was Las Vegas' decision to start Jarrett Stidham over Derek Carr in Week 17. Despite losing in overtime to San Francisco, Stidham showed out in his first start for the silver and black, throwing for 365 yards and three TDs on a 49ers' defense that leads the league in EPA/play. Two interceptions plagued the Raiders in their upset bid, and while the result didn't go Las Vegas' way, it competed
Warrick Dunn Jersey to the best of its ability, which is all you can ask for from a team that's underachieved relative to preseason expectations.WEEK 18 NFL BETTING: Will Kansas City notch a regular season sweep over Las Vegas, or can the Raiders end their season on a high note? For those looking for a play, we'll give you all the information you need before placing a wager on Chiefs-Raiders, including the ,tips, and our prediction for this Week 18 AFC West matchup. Spread:Chiefs-8.5(-110); Raiders+8.5(-110)Over/Under:52.5Moneyline:Chiefs-450; Raiders+340In the preseason look-ahead lines, Kansas City was only a two-point road favorite in this contest with Las Vegas expected to be more competitive this season. More recently, the Chiefs were sitting as high as -9.5, but with limits starting to increase, they've been bet down to -8.5. The market's starting to sharpen up, as the Chiefs were getting a bit too much respect when pegged as -9.5 favorites. Kansas City remains one of the highest power-rated teams in the league, but considering the Chiefs closed as seven-point home favorites back in Week 5, the opening spread of 9.5 was a bit too steep. The drop-off from Carr to Stidham wasn't as drastic as the betting market expected last week, as the Raiders easily covered as 10-point home 'dogs. The Chiefs lead the all-time series over the Raiders 71-54-2. Kansas City's riding a four-game winning streak in the series, and with a win on Sunday, it will sweep the regular season series for a second straight year. The Raiders had a great shot of snapping a three-game win-losing streak in Week 5, but they couldn't stop the Chiefs' offense in the second half, blowing a 20-point lead. The Raiders' last win in this series came back in October of 2020 when Carr threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns in a 40-32 upset win in Arrowhead. -- Despite posting a 4-1 record over their past five games, the Chiefs have underperformed relative to the betting market, covering in just one game over that stretch (Week
Jamal Anderson Jersey 16 vs. Seattle).-- Conversely, the Raiders have been profitable against the spread over their past seven games, posting a 5-2 ATS record.-- According to , "Las Vegas Raiders are 6-0 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record this season." Can Jarrett Stidham replicate his Week 17 performance?Against the league's best defense, Stidham played well in Week 17, posting the fourth-best adjusted EPA/play (0.376) among QBs along with the third-best completion percentage over expectation (plus-13 percent). Stidham has a shot to post another solid showing against a weaker Chiefs defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in drop-back EPA (0.047). Stidham proved why he was a high four-star talent coming out of high school and was close to breaking the record for the most pa sing yards from a QB in his first career start. He could very well post another 350-plus pa sing yard output this week. Will the Raiders' defense get enough stops?Las Vegas' offense certainly wasn't the i sue last week, as
Tyeler Davison Jersey it was just the second team to score 30-plus points on the 49ers this season. The only other team to achieve that mark this year was, you gue sed it, the Chiefs back in Week 7 (44 points). The Raiders' defense enters Week 18 allowing the second-highest drop-back EPA (0.152), so Las Vegas' defense needs to find a way to get off the field on third down and limit the Chiefs to field goal attempts. The Raiders allowed the Chiefs to convert seven-of-12 third downs earlier this season, a big reason why the Chiefs erased a 20-point first-half deficit.Davante Adams against Kansas City's secondaryWhile he only hauled in three receptions on seven targets, one of Adams' biggest games of the season came against the Chiefs in Week 5. Despite not having Carr under center, Adams exploded last week with Stidham, posting his second-highest receiving yard output of the season (153 yards). Limiting explosive plays and not letting Adams get over the top of the defense is critical. Kansas City's defense will likely play a two-high shell to
John Cominsky Jersey bracket Adams, but even with all the attention, he's still capable of getting loose. 60%Albeit a small sample size, that's Stidham's red-zone completion percentage. Racking up yards and moving the ball in between the 20s is one thing, but executing your offense at an efficient clip in the red zone is what winning teams do. Carr struggled in the red zone this season, posting a42.4-percent red-zone completion percentage (29th), a big reason why the Raiders had to move on from him. If Stidham continues to complete his pa ses at a high clip in the red zone, he has a chance to be one of the league's 32 starting quarterbacks next season. There's something to be said about the Raiders posting a perfect 6-0 ATS record against teams with a winning record, as they're able to compete against the upper-echelon teams in the league. The betting market is still undervaluing Stidham a tiny bit, and we think he does enough to keep the Raiders within striking distance. Ultimately, Mahomes and the Chiefs persevere, notching their 14th win of the season, but Raiders' bettors rejoice with a winning spread ticket.PREDICTION: Chiefs33, Raider
